Publications Outlook Express Email Setup Page.
This
page will explain how to setup your email account
in Outlook Express. The examples below were taken
from Outlook Express 5 and may look a little different
if you have a earlier version of the program.
Make sure to print this page to help you setup
your email account.
First open Outlook Express. Once Outlook Express
is open select Accounts from the Tools
menu.
Once
the account panel opens, click on the Add
button and choose Mail.
Enter
your name as you would like it to appear on all
of your email messages. Below you will see that
I chose to use Webmaster because I have multible
accounts. You may use any name you wish in this
field.
Enter
your email address exactly how it
was assigned to you.
(yourname@your-server-name) For example, the name
that was assigned to me is webmaster and
my server name is showpubs.net so
below you will see that I entered webmaster@showpubs.net
Enter
the server name that you've been assigned for
both "POP3" & "SMTP"
servers. Our "POP3" & "SMTP"
server names include the following...
Please
only use the server name that was assigned
to you.
Enter
your email address exactly how it
was assigned to you in the Account Name
field. Enter your password exactly
how it was assigned to you in the Password
field. (Passwords are case sensitive)
Click
Finish to complete the setup wizard.
One last change, go to "tools" "accounts"
then double click your email account and go to
the "Servers" tab and check to bottom box
